- 7 slices white bread
- 3/4 lb. Longhorn cheese
- 8 eggs
- 3/4 tsp. salt
- 2 1/2 c. milk
- 3/4 tsp. dry mustard
- dash of cayenne pepper
- thin cubes of ham or crumbled sausage
Directions

1Trim crusts from bread slices and butter bread on one side. Cut bread slices into about 1-inch cubes.

2Place buttered side up in a 9 x 13-inch Pyrex or glass cake pan.

3Beat together eggs, milk, salt, mustard and pepper.

4Pour over bread slices.

5Add cubes of ham or sausage on top with grated cheese.

6Cover with aluminum foil and refrigerate overnight.

7Bake, covered, in a preheated 325° oven about 1 1/2 hours or until egg mixture is set.

8Ten minutes before done, uncover.
