  • 1 loaf English muffin bread
  • 8 eggs
  • 3/4 lb. grated Longhorn cheese
  • 8 oz. cream cheese
  • 2 c. milk
  • 1 cube margarine
  • 1/2 tsp. dry mustard
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 Tbsp. chives
  • dark cayenne to taste
  • shrimp, crab, bacon or sausage (optional)

Directions

    Spread bread with butter and cream cheese and cut into cubes. Place evenly in a well-greased casserole.

    Beat together eggs, milk, salt, pepper and chives.

    Pour over bread cubes; add grated cheese.

    Refrigerate covered overnight.

    Bake covered for 1 hour at 350°.

    Continue baking uncovered for 10 minutes.
