Ingredients
- 1 large can evaporated milk
- 4 1/2 c. sugar
- 1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
- 2 sticks margarine or butter
- 3 (18 oz.) pkg. semi-sweet chocolate bits
- vanilla
- 1 c. nuts
Directions

1In a large saucepan, bring to a boil the sugar, cream of tartar and evaporated milk.

2When it comes to a boil, cook for 6 minutes by the clock, stirring constantly with a wooden spoon.

3Remove from heat.

4Pour over bits of margarine.

5Stir until completely dissolved.

6Add vanilla and nuts.

7Stir.

8Pour into a greased pan (I use margarine).

9Allow to stand at room temperature for approximately 1 hour.

10Cut in squares or refrigerate overnight and cut the following day.
