Ingredients
- 1 c. milk
- 1/3 c. sugar
- 1/3 c. shortening
- 2 to 3 c. self-rising flour
- 1 pkg. yeast (use 2 for extra fast rise)
- 1/2 c. lukewarm water
Directions

1Scald milk; stir in sugar.

2Add shortening and cool to lukewarm.

3Dissolve yeast in lukewarm water.

4Add to milk mixture. Add flour.

5Cover and set for 30 minutes in a warm place free from draft.

6The batter should be double in bulk.

7Knead on floured board.

8Roll out to desired thickness.

9Cut with biscuit cutter.

10Brush with margarine and let rise for 30 minutes.

11Bake at 350° to 400° until done.
