  • 2 sticks butter
  • 1/2 c. shortening
  • 3 c. sugar
  • 1 c. eggs (4 to 5)
  • 3 c. plain sifted flour
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 tsp. lemon extract
  • 1 bottle 7-Up (7 oz.)

Directions

    Cream butter, shortening and sugar together.

    Add eggs and continue beating.

    Add flour alternate with vanilla and lemon extract and 7-Up.

    Bake in large tube pan at 325° for 1 hour and 10 minutes.

    If desired, Seven Minute Icing may be used.
