- 1 c. margarine
- 3 c. sugar
- 3 c. flour, sifted
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 c. chopped pecans
- 1/2 c. shortening
- 5 eggs
- 7 oz. 7-Up soda
- 1/2 tsp. almond flavoring

1Cream the margarine, shortening and sugar well. Add eggs, one at

2a time, and beat well. Add flour and 7-Up; beat well. After each addition, add vanilla and almond flavoring.

3Grease a 9-inch tube pan. Sprinkle pecans over bottom. Add mixture. Bake 45 minutes at 350°, then 35 minutes at 300°.

4Let cake cool for 20 minutes. Remove carefully from pan, leaving cake upside down, giving a nice nutty top.
