- 1 pkg. dry yeast
- 1 Tbsp. butter or shortening
- 1 heaping Tbsp. granulated sugar
- 2 c. lukewarm milk
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- 4 to 5 c. all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp. salt
Directions

1Combine yeast, sugar, baking powder and shortening with milk. Mix flour to make a stiff dough. Roll dough to 1/4-inch thickness. Cut with floured biscuit cutter. Butter top of each biscuit and place one on top of another.

2(These are doubled decked biscuits.) Let rise 1 hour.

3Place on greased pan and bake at 375° until brown.
