  • 3 red bell peppers
  • 1 cup walnuts, roughly chopped
  • 3/4 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup pomegranate molasses
  • 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 tbsp cumin, ground
  • 1 tbsp spicy red pepper paste or harissa, optional
  • 1 tsp salt, or to taste
  • 1 tsp sugar, optional

Directions

    Process the red bell peppers in the food processor until finely chopped.

    In a large bowl, combine all the ingredients together, cover, and refrigerate until ready to serve.

    To serve, spread muhammara into a shallow dish, drill with some extra virgin olive oil and garnish with walnuts.
