- 2 c. flour
- 1 c. sugar
- 1 c. margarine (2 sticks)
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1 1/2 to 2 tsp. almond extract
- pinch of salt
- 1 egg yolk (save egg white for top)
- 24 whole almonds
Directions

1Mix all ingredients thoroughly except almonds and egg white. Pat dough firmly into 9 x 13-inch pan.

2Brush with unbeaten egg white.

3Lightly score the top into 24 bars.

4Place an almond in center of each bar.

5Bake until golden brown in a 350° oven for 20 to 25 minutes.

6Cool and cut.
