- FOR THE CAKE:
- 1 cup Butter
- 1 cup Water
- 2 cups Flour
- 2 cups Sugar
- 1 teaspoon Baking Soda
- 1-1/2 teaspoon Almond Extract
- 1/2 cups Sour Cream
- 2 whole Eggs
- FOR THE ICING:
- 1/2 cups Butter
- 1/4 cups Milk
- 3-1/2 cups Powdered Sugar
- 1 teaspoon Almond Extract
Directions

1For the cake:

2Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.

3In a small sauce pan, add the water and butter and bring to a boil.

4While that is heating, add the flour and sugar into a heatproof mixing bowl.

5Pour the boiling water and butter mixture over the flour and sugar mixture. Beat well. Add the baking soda, almond extract and sour cream. Then mix in the eggs. Mix again, scraping down the sides at least once.

6Pour the batter into a 9x13 or larger pan. Bake for 20-25 minutes until the middle is set. Then remove from the oven and let the cake cool for 20-30 minutes before starting your icing.

8Bring the butter and milk to a boil in a small sauce pan. Add the remaining ingredients to a large heatproof mixing bowl. Once the milk and butter are boiling, pour the mixture into the mixing bowl. Stir until well mixed. Add more powdered sugar if you need a thicker consistency. It should be pourable though.

9Pour onto the cake and let it sit for 20 minutes.

10Serve with ice cream or fresh fruit!
