  • 4 eggs
  • 2 14 cups sugar, divided
  • 1 cup butter, melted
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 14 teaspoon salt
  • 1 12 teaspoons almond extract
  • 12 cup sliced almonds

Directions

    Beat eggs until light and lemon colored.

    Gradually add 1 2/3 c sugar (remaining is used in the topping), beating until combined.

    Stir in butter, flour, salt and extract.

    Spread in greased 13 x 9 baking pan.

    Sprinkle with almonds and remaining sugar.

    Bake at 350 for 25 to 30 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean.
