Almond Mini Chip Shortbread

  • 2 sticks butter, softened
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 2 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp. almond extract
  • 1 c. Hershey's mini chips semi-sweet chocolate

    Heat oven to 350°.

    Grease a 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking pan.

    In large mixer bowl, beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add flour and almond extract; blend well.

    Stir in small chocolate chips; pat into prepared pan.

    Bake 30 minutes or until golden brown.

    Cool in pan on wire rack 10 minutes.

    Cut into bars.

    Cool completely in pan on wire rack.

    Makes about 36 bars.
