- 1 1/2 c. vegetable shortening
- 2/3 c. sugar
- 1/2 tsp. vanilla (lemon may be used)
- 1 1/2 tsp. almond flavoring
- 5 eggs
- 3 1/2 c. plain sifted flour
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1 c. milk
Directions

1Cream shortening and sugar until light and fluffy.

2Add flavorings.

3Add eggs, one at a time and beat well.

4Add alternately the measured flour and baking powder with milk beginning with flour mixture and ending with flour mixture.

5Bake in greased and floured tube pan for 1 1/2 hours or until done in preheated 325° oven.
