  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup molasses
  • 4 tablespoons flour
  • 1 egg, well beaten
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • Crumb Topping
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/4 cup shortening
