- 1/2 c. yellow cornmeal
- 2 c. boiling water
- 2 Tbsp. oil
- 1/2 c. molasses
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 Tbsp. dry yeast
- 1 c. warm water
- 5 to 5 1/2 c. flour
Directions

1Stir cornmeal slowly into boiling water.

2Boil 5 minutes.

3Add oil, molasses and salt; cool. When lukewarm add yeast which has been dissolved in the warm water.

4Add flour to make stiff dough. Knead well.

5Let rise until doubled.

6Shape into 2 loaves.

7Place in greased pans.
-
8Let rise.
-
9Bake at 400° for 15 minutes.
-
10Reduce to 350°.

11Bake 30 minutes more.
