- 6 c. self-rising flour
- 1/3 c. sugar
- dash of salt
- 1 tsp. soda
- 1 c. shortening
- 2 pkg. yeast
- 1/4 c. warm water
- 2 c. buttermilk
Directions

1Mix dry ingredients together.

2Cut in shortening until mixture resembles coarse meal.

3Dissolve yeast in warm water.

4Add yeast mixture and buttermilk.

5Dough will be soft.

6Turn onto floured board and knead a few times, adding flour to make dough firm enough to roll out.

7Roll out to 1/2-inch thickness and cut out with cutter.

8Bake at 350° until light brown.

9Yields about 36 (2-inch) rolls.
