- 5 c. flour
- 4 Tbsp. sugar
- 6 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 c. shortening
- 1 tsp. dry yeast
- 2 Tbsp. warm water
- 2 c. buttermilk
Directions

1Sift together dry ingredients, then cut in shortening. Dissolve yeast in warm water and add buttermilk.

2Then add dry ingredients.

3Cover and refrigerate; will keep several weeks. Makes 5 dozen.

4Take amount to be baked and roll out on slightly floured board to 1/2-inch thick.

5Cut and place on greased cookie sheet; grease top and let sit 1 to 2 hours until they rise.

6Place in a preheated oven and bake for 15 minutes at 400°.
