- 1 pkg. dry yeast
- 2 1/2 Tbsp. warm water
- 3 1/4 c. flour
- 2 1/4 tsp. baking powder
- 1/4 tsp. baking soda
- 1 Tbsp. sugar
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/2 c. shortening
- 1 c. buttermilk
Directions

1Preheat oven to 400°.

2Dissolve yeast in warm water.

3In a separate bowl, put flour, baking powder, baking soda and sugar. Cut in shortening; add yeast mixture and buttermilk.

4Knead slightly.

5Roll out to 1/2-inch; cut 15 biscuits.

6Place into buttered 13 x 9-inch pan and brush with butter.

7Let rise 30 minutes or in refrigerator overnight.

8Bake until golden brown.
