  • 5 c. self-rising flour
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1 c. vegetable shortening
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 2 pkg. yeast, dissolved in 1/4 cup lukewarm water
  • 2 c. buttermilk

Directions

    Combine dry ingredients; cut in shortening.

    Stir in yeast and buttermilk.

    Roll and cut as desired.

    Bake on middle rack of oven at 450° for 10 minutes.

    Dough may be covered and refrigerated for a week.
