- 5 c. flour
- 3 Tbsp. sugar
- 5 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- 1 pkg. yeast, dissolved in 1/2 c. warm water
- 3/4 c. shortening
- 2 c. buttermilk
Directions

1Dissolve yeast in water.

2Mix flour and other dry ingredients together and cut in shortening.

3Add yeast and buttermilk. Lightly flour board and knead slightly.

4Cut biscuits and fold. Let rise at room temperature.

5Bake at 425° for 15 minutes.

6Brush with melted butter.

7(Can be kept in refrigerator to bake later.)
