- 5 c. self-rising flour
- 1/3 c. sugar
- 1 c. vegetable shortening
- 1 tsp. soda
- 2 pkg. yeast
- 1/2 c. warm water
- 2 c. buttermilk
Directions

1Combine flour, sugar and soda; cut in shortening.

2Dissolve yeast in warm water.

3Stir yeast mix and buttermilk into other ingredients.

4Roll and cut as desired.

5Bake at 450° for 15 to 20 minutes.

6Dough may be covered and refrigerated as long as a week. Can also be made into biscuits and frozen.
