- 6 c. self-rising flour
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 2 pkg. dry yeast, dissolved in 1/4 c. warm water
- 2 c. buttermilk
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1 c. Crisco
Directions

1Sift dry ingredients together.

2Cut in Crisco; add yeast and buttermilk.

3Knead well.

4Roll out on a floured table top and cut out as desired.

5Bake at 450°.

6Dough may be put in a covered bowl and refrigerated for as long as a week.

7After biscuits are cut out, let rise before baking.

8Bake at 400° for 10 minutes or until brown.
