- 3 c. self-rising flour
- 1 c. Crisco
- 1 c. buttermilk (room temperature)
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 pkg. dry yeast, dissolved in 1/4 c. warm water and 1 Tbsp. sugar
- 1/4 tsp. soda
Directions

1Sift dry ingredients together (except sugar).

2Let yeast mixture stand in warm place until yeast is lively and bubbles up. Add Crisco to dry ingredients, then butter and yeast mixture. Roll out and cut rolls into desired shape and size.

3Place on greased baking sheet; cover with damp towel or waxed paper for 30 minutes.

4Bake at 425° for 10 to 12 minutes.
