- 5 c. flour
- 1 tsp. soda
- 2 pkg. yeast
- 3 tsp. baking powder
- 3/4 c. shortening
- 2 c. buttermilk
- 2 tsp. salt
- 3 Tbsp. sugar
- 1/2 c. warm water
Directions

1Dissolve yeast in warm water.

2Stir dry ingredients together. Cut in shortening; then add yeast mixture and milk.

3Mix well. Makes a large bowlful.

4Will keep 7 to 10 days if kept in covered bowl in refrigerator.

5Bake at 400° for 12 to 15 minutes.
