- 2 Tbsp. warm water
- 5 c. flour
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. soda
- 3 tsp. baking powder
- 1/4 c. sugar
- 2 c. buttermilk
- 1 c. shortening
Directions

1Dissolve yeast in warm water.

2Let set 5 to 10 minutes.

3Sift together flour, salt, soda, baking powder and sugar.

4Add 1 cup buttermilk to yeast mixture.

5Work in shortening.

6Add another cup of buttermilk with dry ingredients.

7Blend.

8Work dough on board and roll out 1/3-inch thick.

9Bake in 450° oven for 12 to 15 minutes.
