- 1 pkg. dry yeast
- 1/4 c. lukewarm water
- 2 c. flour
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 2 tsp. sugar
- 1 tsp. salt
- 3 Tbsp. shortening
- 1/2 c. buttermilk
Directions

1Soften yeast in lukewarm water and set aside.

2Sift dry ingredients together.

3Then add milk and softened yeast.

4Store in refrigerator until one hour before baking.

5Roll out dough 1/2-inch thick and cut with 2-inch biscuit cutter.

6Bake at 450° for 10 minutes or until light brown or about ten.

7The nice thing about these biscuits is that you can store the dough in the refrigerator and make it up as needed.
