- 2 pkg. dry yeast
- 1/4 c. warm water
- 1 tsp. soda
- 2 c. buttermilk
- 5 c. flour
- 1 1/2 tsp. salt
- 3 tsp. baking powder
- 3 Tbsp. sugar
- 1 c. Crisco
Directions

1Dissolve yeast in warm water.

2Add yeast and soda to buttermilk.

3Sift together dry ingredients.

4Cut in Crisco until crumbly.

5Pour in buttermilk mixture and work together with fork. Store in a tightly covered container and use as needed.

6Roll to 1/2-inch on pastry cloth and cut with biscuit cutter.

7Do not let rise. Dough will keep at least 10 days in refrigerator.

8Bake at 400° for 10 to 12 minutes.
