Ingredients
- 5 c. unsifted flour
- 1/4 c. sugar
- 1 tsp. salt
- 3 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. soda
- 1 c. shortening
- 2 c. buttermilk
- 2 pkg. dry yeast
- 3 to 4 Tbsp. warm water
Directions

1Dissolve yeast and warm water together.

2Sift dry ingredients together.

3Cut in shortening.

4Mix buttermilk and yeast with shortening mixture.

5Put in oiled bowl and refrigerate.

6When ready to use, roll out on floured board and cut with biscuit cutter.

7Place on greased pan and let stand for 30 minutes or longer.

8Bake at 400°.

9May be kept in refrigerator in covered container for a week.

10Makes 40 (2-inch) biscuits.
