- 5 c. flour
- 3/4 c. shortening
- 1 tsp. soda
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. salt
- 3 Tbsp. sugar
- 1 pkg. dry yeast, dissolved in 1/2 c. warm water
- 2 c. buttermilk
Directions

1Mix dry ingredients. Cut in shortening. Add buttermilk and yeast which has been dissolved in water. Stir until all flour is moist.

2Roll on board dusted with flour until a nice smooth ball. Dough is ready to be used or stored in refrigerator in covered bowl for up to 2 weeks.

3When ready to use, roll out as much dough as you need on floured board 1/2 to 3/4-inch thick.

4Cut out. Bake at 400° for 12 minutes.
