  • 4 c. flour
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 4 tsp. ginger (powdered)
  • 4 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 tsp. nutmeg
  • 3 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 c. butter or margarine, melted
  • 2 c. hot water
  • 1 c. molasses (light)
  • 4 eggs, unbeaten

Directions

    Sift dry ingredients together.

    Add hot water and mix well. Add remaining ingredients and mix on slow speed, scraping bowl often.

    Batter will be thin.

    Pour into a 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan. Bake at 300° for 60 minutes or until the center is solid.
