Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-bran cereal
  • 4 shredded wheat biscuits
  • 12 cup boiling water
  • 1 cup shortening
  • 3 cups sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 5 cups flour
  • 5 teaspoons baking soda
  • 12 teaspoon baking powder
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 4 cups buttermilk
  • 1 -2 cup raisins

Directions

    Pour boiling water over cereal and mix.

    In a seperate bowl, cream shortening and sugar.

    Beat in eggs.

    Add Bran mixture and stir well.

    Sift dry ingredients and add to creamed mixture, alternately with buttermilk.

    Mix well.

    Cover and refrigerate for up to 1 month.

    Pour into greased muffin tin when ready to bake and bake at 400 degrees for 20-25 minutes.

    If using dark muffin tin usually only takes around 20 minutes.
