  • 3 c. sugar
  • 1 stick butter
  • 1 stick margarine (less 2 tsp.)
  • 1/2 c. Crisco
  • 6 eggs
  • 1 c. sweet milk
  • 3 1/2 c. cake flour (Swans Down)
  • 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • pinch of salt
  • 1 tsp. vanilla

    Cream sugar, margarine, butter and Crisco.

    Add eggs one at a time.

    Add flour, baking powder and milk alternately, ending with flour.

    Fold in flavoring on low speed.

    Bake in a tube pan for 1 hour and 30 minutes at 275°.
