Ingredients

  • 5 to 6 c. fruit (peaches, apples, blueberries or raspberries)
  • 2 Tbsp. lemon juice (only with peaches)
  • 2 c. flour
  • 1 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1 c. milk
  • 1/2 c. melted butter
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 3 Tbsp. cornstarch
  • 1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 1/2 c. boiling water
  • 1/2 tsp. salt

Directions

    Mix flour, 1 1/2 cups of sugar, milk, butter, baking powder and 1/2 teaspoon of salt.

    Mix well.

    Put fruit in a 13 x 9-inch greased baking dish.

    Spoon mixture over fruit.

    Mix 1 cup of sugar, cornstarch, cinnamon and 1/2 teaspoon of salt.

    Sprinkle this over batter.

    Pour boiling water over all.

    Bake at 350° for 1 hour.
