  • 750 g apples, cored and sliced
  • 60 g butter
  • 50 g dried white breadcrumbs
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • you can substitute cinnamon for 50gr chopped almonds (or use both if preferred)

Directions

    Butter and ovenproof dish and arrange in it the layers of apples, breadcrumbs, thin flakes of butter, sugar and either the cinnamon or chopped almonds, finishing with a layer of breadcrumbs.

    Bake at 180c, for about 30 minutes or until the apples are tender.

    Serve warm with cream or custard.
