- 1/4 cup pecans, chopped and toasted

- 2 1/4 lbs granny smith apples, peeled, cored, and cut into 1/4 inch-thick slices (about 5 medium)
- 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice

- 1 unbaked 9-inch pie shell

2Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

3Blend flour, sugar and pecans in processor.

4Cut in butter using on/off turns until mixture resembles coarse meal.

6Mix sugar, cornstarch and cinnamon in large bowl.

8Mix in berries.

9Mound fruit mixture in pie shell; sprinkle with topping.

10Bake until filling bubbles and topping is golden brown, about 50 minutes.

11Cool slightly in pan on rack.
