- 4 lb. well-flavored apples stemmed and quartered
- 2 c. cider or water
- sugar
- 3 tsp. ground cinnamon
- 1 1/2 tsp. ground cloves
- 1/2 tsp. ground allspice
Directions

1Cook apples in cider or water until soft.

2Strain pulp. To each cup of pulp add 1/2 c. of sugar.

3Stir in remaining ingredients.

4Cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until mixture sheets from spoon.

5Pour into hot, sterilized jars.

6Store in a cool dry place.
