- 4 lb. apples (Rome or Golden Delicious)
- 1/2 c. apple cider
- 3 c. sugar
- 1 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp. ground allspice
- 1/4 tsp. ground cloves
Directions

1Wash, peel, core and slice apples.

2Combine apples and cider in 6-quart pot.

3Bring to a boil over medium heat.

4Reduce heat to low.

5Cover, stirring occasionally.

6Simmer until apples are tender (approximately 30 to 40 minutes).

7Puree apples in blender until smooth.

8Return apple mixture to pot.

9Add sugar, cinnamon, allspice and cloves.

10Bring to boil over medium low heat.

11Cover and cook until thick (approximately 1 hour).

12Pour into canning jars, leaving 1/4-inch space.

13Cover jar with lids and deep boil jars for 10 minutes.

14Cool jars 10 to 12 hours.
