- 1 bushel Winesap apples
- 5 packets red hots
- 1 Tbsp. cloves
Directions

1Wash apples; quarter, removing core.

2Cook with peeling and 4 to 6 cups water.

3Stir and cook down until tender.

4Press through a colander or sieve.

5Return to pot and sweeten to taste.

6Add the red hots and cloves.

7Cook on low heat until thick.

8Seal in jars. Makes about 15 quarts.

9I usually only make 1/2 of the recipe.
