Ingredients

  • 1-1/4 cup White Whole Wheat Flour
  • 3/4 cups All-purpose Flour
  • 1 Tablespoon Baking Powder
  • 1/4 teaspoons Salt
  • 1/8 teaspoons Pepper
  • 1 cup Plain Nonfat Yogurt
  • 1/2 cups 2% Milk
  • 2 Tablespoons Sugar
  • 1 whole Medium Apple (peeled, Cored And Diced)
  • 3/4 cups Shredded 2% Milk Cheddar Cheese, Divided
  • 6 strips Thin Sliced Pre-cooked Bacon, Diced

Directions

  1. 1
    Preheat oven to 375 F.
  2. 2
In a small bowl combine the flours, baking powder, salt and pepper. Add the yogurt, milk and sugar and mix until just moistened. Stir in the apple, 1/2 cup cheddar and bacon. (As a quick side note, I'd like to highly recommend the pre-cooked bacon here. It's very flavorful and super easy and convenient in this style of biscuit.)
  3. 3
Drop dough by 1/4 cupfuls onto a greased cookie sheet and sprinkle with the rest of the cheddar. Bake for approximately 17 minutes. Every oven is different, so start checking them at the 13-15 minute mark.
  4. 4
I got 11 medium sized biscuits and calculate approximately 135 calories apiece.
