Ingredients
- 3 cups finely chopped apples (peeled and cored)
- 4 cups chopped fresh cranberries
- 2 and 1/2 cups brown sugar
- 1 cup water
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
Directions

1Combine apples, cranberries, sugar and water in a large stainless steel or enamel stockpot.

2Bring to a boil, stirring frequently.

3Boil gently for 15 minutes.

4Stir in cinnamon, nutmeg and walnuts.

5Cook for 5 minutes more.

6Ladle into clean, hot jars, leaving 1/4 inch head space.

7Process in a boiling water bath for 15 minutes at altitudes up to 1000 feet.

8Adjust times for higher altitudes.
