  • 1 tsp. lemon juice
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1/4 c. flour
  • 1/4 c. butter

    a 1-quart buttered baking dish. Sprinkle with spices and lemon juice.

    Work together sugar, flour and butter until crumbly.

    Spread over the apples.

    Bake, uncovered, for 45 minutes in a moderate oven (375°), or until apples are tender.

    If mixture becomes dry while cooking, add a small amount of water.

    Serve cold with whipped cream or hot with plain cream.
