- 6 c. peeled, sliced apples
- 2 Tbsp. lemon juice
- 1/2 c. brown sugar, firmly packed
- 1/2 c. butter
- 1/2 c. water
- 3/4 c. all-purpose flour
- 1/2 c. granulated sugar
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
Directions

1Arrange prepared apples in well-greased 9-inch square pan or well-greased 2-quart casserole.

2Sprinkle with water and lemon juice.

3Spoon flour into dry measuring cup.

4Level off and pour measured flour into bowl.

5Add sugars and cinnamon to flour.

6Stir well to blend.

7Cut in butter with pastry blender until mixture resembles coarse meal.

8Spoon crumb mixture evenly over apples. Bake at 375° for 40 to 50 minutes.

9Yields 9 servings.
