  • 4 tart apples, pared and sliced thin
  • 1/2 c. brown sugar
  • 1/2 c. butter
  • 1 c. brown sugar
  • 1 c. flour
  • 1/2 c. chopped nuts

    Butter a baking dish or skillet.

    Arrange a layer of apples in dish; sprinkle with 1/2 cup brown sugar.

    Add rest of apples.

    Top with crumbs made by working together butter, 1 cup brown sugar, flour and nuts.

    Bake 45 minutes in a 375° oven.

    Serve warm with whipped cream.
