  • 5 each large apples peeled, cored & sliced
  • 1 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 each eggs
  • 1 stick margarine
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 pinch salt

    Heat oven to 350.

    Spray a 8x8 baking dish with pan coating.

    Arrange apples in 2 layers sprinkling with cinnamon.

    .i also added a little nutmeg and ground cloves.

    .. use 1/2 the brown sugar each layer.

    Dot the top with 1/2 the margarine.

    Add the dry ingredients together and combine well.

    Add the remaining margarine and mix with your hand until incorporated then mix in the egg until crumbly.

    Pour the topping mixture over apples.

    Bake about 40 minutes.

    I turned off the oven and left it in for 12 more minutes just keep an eye on it.
