Apple Dumplings

- 1 c. sugar
- 1 c. water
- 1 stick butter, divided
- 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
- 1 (8 oz.) can refrigerated crescent dinner rolls
- 1 (20 oz.) can apple pie filling
- cinnamon, sugar and nutmeg (to sprinkle)
Directions

1Preheat oven to 350°.

2In medium saucepan, combine sugar, water, 5 1/2 tablespoons butter, cinnamon and nutmeg.

3Bring to a boil; set aside.

4Separate dinner rolls and roll thin.

5Spoon 2 tablespoons of pie filling into middle of each piece of dough. Fold over and seal edges.

6Place in shallow baking dish.

7Sprinkle with a little cinnamon, sugar and nutmeg.

8Dot with remaining butter.

9Pour sugar mixture over dumplings.

10Bake for 30 minutes, or until brown, basting often.

11Yields 8 dumplings.
