- 2 c. flour
- 1 tsp. salt
- 3/4 c. shortening
- 1/2 c. milk
- 2 c. granulated sugar
- 2 c. water
- 1/4 tsp. nutmeg
- 1/4 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/2 c. butter
Directions

1Mix first 4 ingredients together like pie dough.

2Divide into 8 parts.

3Pare, core and cut apples into quarters.

4Place apple pieces on individual rolled dough sections.

5Sprinkle apples with butter, sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg.

6Fold dough upward around apples.

7Place in deep dish pan.

8Boil the remaining 6 ingredients in saucepan for 5 minutes.

9Pour over dumplings and bake at 350° for 30 minutes.
