Apple Dumplings

Ingredients
- 2 c. flour
- 4 Tbsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. salt
- sugar and cinnamon
- 1 c. milk
- 6 apples, peeled and cored
- 4 Tbsp. shortening
Directions

1Sift together the flour, baking powder and salt.

2Put in the shortening with fingers.

3Add milk gradually; mix to a smooth dough.

4Turn onto floured board.

5Divide into 6 portions and roll out enough to cover an apple.

6Place an apple on each piece of dough.

7Fill the space from which the core was taken with sugar and a little cinnamon.

8Wet the edges of the dough; fold them over the apple.

9Place on greased baking sheet.

10Bake at 350° for about 30 minutes.

11(Dumplings may be steamed instead of baked.)
