- 1/2 c. butter
- 1 c. light brown sugar
- 2 eggs
- 3/4 c. chopped nuts
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 3 c. flour
- 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. grated lemon rind
- 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
- 1 c. grated apple
- 3/4 c. buttermilk
Directions

1Cream butter and sugar; beat in eggs.

2Add flour, soda, baking powder and salt.

3Stir in lemon rinds, nuts, cinnamon, nutmeg and apples.

4Blend into a creamed mixture, putting buttermilk in a little bit at a time.

5Pour mixture into a greased and floured 9 x 5 x 3-inch loaf pan.

6Bake at 350° for 1 hour.

7Cool for 10 minutes.

8Remove from pan.
