- PHILADELPHIA Original Cream Cheese, softened
- 2 cups unsalted butter, softened
- 3-1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- Filling
- 3 Tbsp. unsalted butter
- 2 cups Granny Smith apples, peeled, cut into1/2-inch cubes
- 1 qt. pears, peeled, cut into 1/2-inch cubes Safeway 1 lb For $1.88 thru 02/09
- 1 cup dried cranberries
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1-1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
- 1 Tbsp. cornstarch
- 2 Tbsp. water
- 2 each eggs
- 2 Tbsp. water
- 1-2/3 Tbsp. white coarse sugar
Directions

1Dough: Place cream cheese in mixer bowl fitted with paddle attachment; beat on low speed until creamy.

2Add butter; beat until well blended.

3Add flour and salt; beat just until mixture is well blended and pulls away from side of bowl to form dough.

4Scrape bottom of bowl, then turn out dough onto lightly floured surface.

5Pat dough into rectangle; fold in half.

6Repeat.

7Wrap dough in plastic wrap.

8Refrigerate at least 2 hours or up to 24 hours.

9Filling: Melt butter in saute pan.

10Add apples; saute 1 to 2 min.

12Add pears, cranberries, granulated sugar and cinnamon; stir.

13Cook on low heat 8 to 10 min.

15Mix cornstarch and water.

16Add to fruit mixture; cook and stir 1 min.

19Pie Assembly: Portion dough into 20 (2-oz.)

22Roll out each piece into 6-inch round on lightly floured surface; top with 1/4 cup fruit mixture.

23Moisten bottom edge of dough rounds with water, then fold in half to form half-moon shape.

24Crimp edges with fork, trimming excess dough if necessary to leave clean rounded edges.

25Make egg wash by beating together egg and water until blended.

26Brush top of each pie with 1/2 tsp.

29Cut 4 or 5 small slits into top of each pie.

30Place pies in parchment paper-lined sheet pans.
