  • 2 gal. apples, sliced
  • 4 c. sugar
  • 1/4 c. vinegar
  • 1 pie shell
  • butter (for top)
  • allspice (sprinkle on top)

Directions

    Mix apples sugar and vinegar in a large container.

    Let set for 3 to 4 hours, then bring to a boil.

    Let boil 5 minutes.

    Have shell ready.

    Use enough apples to fill 1 pie shell.

    Put butter on top, then sprinkle allspice over top.

    Bake at 375° for 45 minutes or until thickened.

    Make more pies with unused apples or put in freezer bags and freeze for later use.
